OpenAI reports a widening gap in enterprise agent use
OpenAI published two reports on August 12 examining adoption across its enterprise customer base and a companion working paper. This is company research, not an independent market census. It says customers in its monthly top decile for output tokens per active user generated 8.3 times as many tokens as typical firms in June, up from 2.6 times in January.
OpenAI also reports that Codex accounted for 64% of combined Codex and ChatGPT enterprise output tokens in June, and that advanced features such as Plugins and skills were more common at its “frontier” firms. The findings support a deployment hypothesis rather than proving business value or causality.

Google launches Pixel 11 phones with Gemini Nano on Tensor G6
Google announced Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL on August 12, with Tensor G6 running its latest Gemini Nano model. This is a company product announcement. Google said the phones are available for preorder starting at $899, $1,099 and $1,299 respectively, with retail availability scheduled for August 20.

Meta and NABTU announce AI-infrastructure workforce partnership
Meta and North America’s Building Trades Unions announced a partnership on August 12 to support skilled-trades workers associated with AI infrastructure construction. This is a company and labor-organization announcement, with the underlying investment scope and future scale presented as the parties’ plan rather than a disclosed completed capital commitment.
